On the 3rd of August Microsoft updated their Office software with the intention of protecting its users from malicious actors trying to gain access to deploy malware and ransomware.
As a result, you download a spreadsheet using the EasyCalc export feature you might see this message at the top of your excel spreadsheet:
The Microsoft Office default setting is to block macros from sources deemed to be "untrusted".
For PC Users
Here's how to enable the Excel macros and use them as normal:
Locate the file in the "Downloads" folder
Right-click on the file for the Excel spreadsheet you just downloaded
Choose Properties
Select the Unblock checkbox on the General tab as shown in the screenshot below
Note: In some cases, usually for files on a network share, users might not see the Unblock checkbox for a file where macros are being blocked. For those cases, see Files centrally located on a network share or trusted website.
Even if the Unblock checkbox is available for a file on a network share, selecting the checkbox wonโt have any effect if the share is considered to be in the Internet zone. For more information, see Mark of the Web and zones.
For Mac Users
Change macro settings in the Trust Center
If you're still having macro issues after following these steps ๐๐ป then you may need to change your macro settings in the Trust Centre. Click here to read more about how to do that.
Important: When you change your macro settings in the Trust Center, they are changed only for the Office program that you are currently using. The macro settings are not changed for all your Office programs.
